The Parliamentary Service of Ghana is inviting applications from qualified candidates for the position of Chief Information Officer.
Job Summary:
The Chief Information Officer (CIO) will play a crucial role in providing research, data management, publishing, media relations, and public engagement support to the speakership, leadership, and members of Parliament.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee and coordinate quality control measures for research, data management, publishing, public engagement, and media relations services provided to Parliament.
- Assist the Clerk to Parliament and the management of the Service by supporting the Deputy Clerk responsible for information management services.
- Lead the development and implementation of strategic plans and policies for the division, ensuring alignment with Parliament’s corporate objectives.
- Provide leadership in information management strategies and digital transformation initiatives.
- Integrate innovative technologies to enhance the accessibility and provision of information services within Parliament.
- Ensure effective management, storage, and dissemination of information.
- Promote best practices in information governance, data security, and privacy.
- Act as the primary liaison for information management services with internal and external stakeholders, including members of Parliament, staff, government agencies, and the public.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Clerk to Parliament.
Qualifications and Experience:
- A first degree in information technology, data science, management information systems, computer science, publishing studies, mass communication, or a relevant social science discipline from a recognized university.
- A minimum of 12 years of relevant post-qualification experience, plus a Master’s degree in a related field, with at least 6 years of experience at a grade analogous to the post of a Director in a public service institution.
OR
- A first degree and a Master’s degree in information technology, data science, management information systems, computer science, publishing studies, mass communication, or a relevant social science discipline.
- At least 6 years of post-Master’s qualification experience at a grade analogous to the post of a Director in a public service institution.
Age Limit: Applicants should not be above 55 years of age at the time of appointment.
