A prominent firm is seeking a Senior Legal Compliance Executive to join their team in Accra. This role is essential for providing legal counsel on regulatory compliance matters and supporting various legal functions within the company.
Key Responsibilities
The successful candidate will be tasked with offering legal advice to both the company and its clients regarding regulatory compliance. They will draft and review a range of documents including contracts, commercial agreements, leases, and memoranda of understanding. The role may also involve representing the company in legal meetings and handling labor-related cases, including representation at the labor commission.
In addition, the Senior Legal Compliance Executive will act as a company secretary representative for assigned clients, performing secretarial duties in line with the Companies Act, 2019 (Act 992, Section 212). The role includes managing client inquiries, preparing proposals and service quotations, and producing monthly reports on activities and new business leads. The candidate will also be expected to write articles on compliance and legal topics, participate in webinars and podcasts, and stay current with industry developments through workshops and professional publications.
Maintaining accurate records and ensuring the confidentiality of client information are crucial aspects of this position. The role requires achieving results through effective task management and undertaking additional legal advisory services as needed.
Qualifications and Experience
Candidates must hold an LLB, a Master of Law, or an equivalent professional certification in a relevant field, with a minimum of 8 years of post-call experience in Ghana. Proven expertise in legal or business regulatory compliance, labor matters, and company secretarial practices is required. The ideal candidate will also demonstrate experience in taking minutes, multitasking under pressure, and maintaining high accuracy and attention to detail.
