Admissions Now Open to Ghanaian and International Applicants for the 2025/2026 Academic Year

Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST), one of Ghana’s premier tertiary institutions, has officially opened its admissions portal for the 2025/2026 academic year. Both local and international applicants interested in pursuing undergraduate degrees across diverse disciplines including engineering, social sciences, natural resources, and humanities are encouraged to apply.

Who Is Eligible to Apply for KNUST 2025/2026 Admission?

KNUST’s admission is open to multiple applicant categories:

1. WASSCE/SSSCE Holders

• Credit passes (A1–C6 for WASSCE / A–D for SSSCE) in English, Mathematics, and Integrated Science

• Good passes in three elective subjects

• Overall aggregate score must be 24 or better

2. GBCE/ABCE Holders

• Credit passes in six GBCE subjects including English and Business Mathematics

• Credit passes in three compulsory and three optional ABCE subjects

3. GCE Advanced Level Holders

• Minimum of five O-Level credit passes (including English and Maths)

• Good passes in three relevant A-Level subjects

4. Mature Applicants (Aged 25 and Above)

• Must provide a valid birth certificate at least 5 years old

• Should meet WASSCE/SSSCE or GCE requirements

• Required to pass an entrance exam and/or interview

• HND holders need three years’ work experience

5. International Applicants

• Equivalent qualifications from recognised institutions

• Francophone applicants must present proof of English proficiency (minimum one year)

• Ghanaian Applicants: GH¢250

• International Applicants: $110
  Note: Ghanaian students with foreign qualifications (e.g., IB, IGCSE) must also pay GH¢250.

How to Buy the KNUST E-Voucher

Option 1 (All Applicants):

• Create an account at apps.knust.edu.gh/admissions/apply

• Use VISA/MasterCard or Mobile Money to purchase the voucher

Option 2 (Ghanaians Only):

• Dial 41555# on any mobile network

• Follow prompts to pay via MoMo

• Log in and verify voucher

Option 3 (Ghanaians Only):

• Buy at designated Ghana Post offices

• Log in and verify voucher on the portal

Steps to Apply for KNUST Undergraduate Admission

1. Sign up on the portal with a valid email address

2. Verify your account via the confirmation link sent to your inbox

3. Purchase or verify your E-Voucher

4. Complete the application online

5. Scan and attach mandatory documents (Birth Certificate, WASSCE results, etc.)

6. Submit the application and print a copy for your records

Important Notes for Applicants

• No hard copies of application forms should be submitted

• Only results/documents uploaded during application will be considered

• Names on certificates must match names on the application form

• Applicants may make corrections after WAEC results are released
