The Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST), Ghana’s premier science and technology university, is inviting applications for key leadership roles: University Librarian, Provosts for two Colleges, and Registrar. The University Librarian will serve as the professional and administrative head of the entire KNUST Library System, including the Prempeh II Library, the KNUST Library Mall, and other college and faculty libraries. Reporting directly to the Vice-Chancellor, the successful candidate will offer strategic direction in library management, technology integration, and learning support services.

Eligibility Requirements:

  • Research degree (MPhil/PhD) in Library Science or related fields

  • Minimum rank of Deputy Librarian at a university or similar institution

  • Experience in university library management and ICT applications

  • Membership in a recognised professional body

Term:
Three (3) years, renewable once before age 60.


Provost Vacancies Open in the College of Science and College of Art and Built Environment

KNUST seeks dynamic and distinguished scholars to fill the role of Provost in two leading colleges. The Provost will provide visionary academic leadership, drive governance standards, and strengthen research and industry linkages.

Eligibility Requirements:

  • Must be of Professorial rank

  • Outstanding academic credentials with research achievements

  • Excellent organisational, leadership, and interpersonal skills

Preferred Qualities:

  • Visionary leadership with business acumen

  • Strong industry-academia rapport

  • Proven ability to secure funding for research and development

Term:
Three (3) years, renewable once, with option to join Faculty thereafter.


KNUST Seeks Visionary Leader for Registrar Role

The Registrar will function as the Secretary to the University Council and serve as the chief administrative officer under the Vice-Chancellor. The ideal candidate will be an experienced academic administrator ready to provide strategic support in university governance and administration.

Eligibility Requirements:

  • At least a Master’s Degree with ten (10) years of experience in tertiary education

  • Must be at least Deputy Registrar or have similar senior management experience

Preferred Qualities:

  • Deep understanding of university systems and global educational trends

  • Strong communication, integrity, and public relations skills

Term:
Five (5) years, non-renewable, ending before age 60.
