Project Brief
The “Digital Transformation for Inclusive Entrepreneurship in Ghana” (DTEG) project aims to improve the framework conditions for sustainable and inclusive economic development for women-led micro and small enterprises. It focuses on enhancing digital transformation and services for women, strengthening digital skills, and improving business conditions for women-led micro-enterprises through policy advisory at regional and national levels. The project is implemented in six selected regions with a gender-transformative approach.
Scope of Role
The Technical Advisor will support the macro-level activities of the project, focusing on strengthening the framework for gender-responsive digital entrepreneurship at the national and regional levels. This includes designing, implementing, and assessing projects that contribute to the development of the digital policy, entrepreneurship, and cooperation landscape in Ghana. A strong understanding of the digital policy and entrepreneurship landscape, as well as gender-transformative approaches, is essential.
Key Tasks
- Advise national and local government structures on opportunities within the digital policy and entrepreneurship landscape in Ghana.
- Collaborate with a team of advisors to implement project activities in Accra and selected regions.
- Conduct thorough reviews and assessments of the digital economy landscape and analyze its economic impact.
- Develop monitoring and evaluation processes and tools with local partners to measure public intervention impacts.
- Coordinate and maintain oversight of activities outside of Accra.
- Draft papers, statements, presentations, and briefing documents related to digitalization, policy, and gender.
- Organize and manage events, workshops, and meetings.
- Provide advice on digitalization and gender to partners and stakeholders.
- Support proposal development and tender implementation.
- Coordinate with consultants for project implementation.
- Prepare presentations and communication materials.
Qualification Required & Experience
- Master’s degree in social sciences, public policy, development cooperation, ICT, or a related field.
- At least five years of experience in the public policy landscape, preferably in digital policy.
- Deep understanding of the digital policy and entrepreneurship landscape in Ghana.
- Experience working with public sector institutions, local government, and civil society organizations.
- Knowledge and experience in organizing ecosystem events and stakeholder engagement.
- Excellent understanding of gender-related issues.
- Strong ICT and computer application skills.
- Excellent team-working, communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in English and Microsoft Office Suite (MS Teams, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
