The Graphic Communications Group Limited (GCGL), Ghana’s most trusted media organization, is seeking a Staff Writer for its flagship business publication, Graphic Business. This role is ideal for an experienced journalist with a strong background in financial and economic reporting who wants to contribute to shaping national business discourse through in-depth analysis and high-quality journalism.
Key Responsibilities
As a Staff Writer, you will be responsible for:

Reporting on business-related events and activities nationwide for both the Graphic Business newspaper and the online portal.

Producing in-depth analyses on issues related to finance, banking, insurance, and the economy.

Conducting interviews with key business figures and industry stakeholders.
-
Editing and proofreading business stories before submission to ensure accuracy and clarity.
-
Reporting on stock market and money market activities, as well as general economic news.

Collaborating on special projects and investigations, occasionally leading a team of writers.

Mentoring junior reporters and interns, helping them build strong professional journalism skills.
Qualifications and Experience
Candidates must possess one of the following:

A First Degree in Communication/Journalism Studies or a related field with at least 4 years of experience, most of which should be in business reporting, OR
-
A Diploma in Journalism from a recognized institution with a minimum of 5 years’ experience in business reporting.

Membership in the Ghana Journalists Association (GJA) is required.
