We are looking to hire a high-caliber, results-oriented Human Resource/Safeguarding Officer with integrity to join our dynamic professional team.

Role Overview

The Human Resource/Safeguarding Officer will manage employee welfare and safety, including recruitment, onboarding, training, and employee benefits management. Responsibilities include ensuring compliance with labor laws, addressing grievances, and fostering a safe and respectful work environment. The role also involves implementing safeguarding policies to protect vulnerable individuals within FAWE Ghana and its partners. This position, reporting to the Programmes Manager, is within the Programmes and Administration Unit. Flexibility to work outside usual hours is required.

Safeguarding Responsibilities

  • Ensure team members’ safety from harm, abuse, neglect, harassment, and exploitation.
  • Act as a support resource on safeguarding to establish a safe working environment.
  • Promote and implement safeguarding policies among team members.
  • Follow the safeguarding reporting procedure for any reportable incidents and encourage others to do the same.

Key Duties

  • Lead HR and Training teams in strategic and operational HR training efforts focused on capability development.
  • Support FAWE Ghana’s short-term and long-term goals through effective relationship management.
  • Develop practices and programs to attract, retain, and develop top talent.
  • Propose and deliver new HR initiatives, coordinate with FAWE RS, and support change management programs.
  • Review HR policies, ensure compliance, and evaluate relevant HR data.
  • Manage onboarding and exit processes for staff.
  • Facilitate and administer staff welfare within FAWE Ghana.
  • Incorporate safeguarding components into all recruitment processes.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field (essential).
  • Member of IHRM; CHRP qualification preferred.
  • A master’s degree is an added advantage.
  • Minimum of 5 years in Human Resources, with at least 3 years in non-profit/NGOs.
  • Experience in a fast-paced, multicultural office preferred.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
