Job Description
A teller’s responsibilities include assisting customers with various transactions such as deposits, withdrawals, and payments. They also address complaints, resolve account discrepancies, and provide information about bank products and services. Additionally, tellers are responsible for accurately tracking, recording, reporting, and storing transaction information, as well as maintaining and balancing cash drawers. Duties also involve packaging cash and rolling coins for storage, keeping the work area clean and organized, and handling currency and confidential information responsibly. Tellers use software to track bank information and generate reports while adhering to all financial and security regulations and procedures.
Qualifications Required & Experience
Candidates should have an HND or a degree, with experience in cash handling and relevant on-the-job training. Essential skills include exceptional time management, communication, and customer service abilities, as well as basic math and computer proficiency. A high level of accountability, efficiency, accuracy, and a professional appearance are also required.
