The Ghana Integrated Health Partnership (IHP) supports the Government of Ghana’s efforts to reduce preventable maternal, newborn, and child deaths by 2030. The programme strengthens local institutions, advances localisation, and expands evidence-based health services across six regions and 31 districts.
Local IT Officer Position Summary
The Local IT Officer provides comprehensive IT leadership and support across one or more projects in Ghana. The role ensures that IT infrastructure, digital workplace systems, and digital health solutions meet organisational, donor, and legal compliance standards while enabling programme teams to deliver impact effectively.
The position supports projects at various stages, including start-up, implementation, and close-out.
Key Responsibilities of the Local IT Officer

Oversee procurement and setup of IT systems, networks, and telephony

Install, configure, and maintain local network infrastructure

Manage Microsoft SharePoint, Teams, OneDrive, and Office 365 tools

Implement IT security controls and data protection policies

Support digital health applications and business systems
-
Manage IT vendors, contracts, renewals, and service delivery

Lead IT service management processes, including incident and change management
-
Provide staff training and serve as a Digital Workplace Champion

Manage IT assets, documentation, BC/DR plans, and reporting

Prepare monthly and quarterly IT reports and participate in global IT meetings
Qualification Required and Experience
Minimum Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field
-
Minimum 4 years experience in hands-on IT management
-
Minimum 5 years experience in IT support roles
-
Experience in international development or humanitarian settings preferred
-
Strong knowledge of network infrastructure and systems administration
-
Experience supporting Microsoft 365 business applications
-
Experience supporting digital health platforms such as CommCare or DHIS2
-
Excellent communication, problem-solving, and training skills

Fluency in English and a local language
Preferred Qualifications

IT certifications such as CompTIA A+, Network+, Security+, Cisco CCNA, or MCSE
