Step-by-Step: Key Responsibilities of the Role
The Director will be responsible for the following core functions:

Supervision of Construction and Renovation Works
Ensure all works and contracts meet approved industry standards and University requirements. -
Management of Construction Contracts
Oversee contract execution to guarantee timely and compliant project delivery. -
Procurement and Consultancy Oversight
Collaborate with the procurement unit to secure consultancy services in line with national laws and University statutes. -
Infrastructure Maintenance and Development
Manage buildings, roads, drains, parks, gardens and all related designs and drawings. -
Housing and Residential Facilities Management
Oversee staff housing allocation and the construction and maintenance of student residential facilities. -
Land Use and Records Management
Control land use and maintain accurate records of all land transactions. -
Environmental and Support Services
Manage waste disposal, valuation services, fumigation and pest control activities.
Qualification and Experience Requirements
Applicants must meet the following criteria:

A minimum of a Master’s degree in the Built Environment or a related field

A relevant professional qualification

At least six (6) years’ experience as a Deputy Director of Works and Physical Development in a university or similar institution

Proficiency in relevant computer applications

Initial appointment is for four (4) years

Eligible for one further term of up to four (4) years, subject to retirement regulations
