Job Description
A Cashier is needed to welcome customers, answer their questions, help them locate items, and provide advice or recommendations. The role involves operating scanners, scales, cash registers, and other electronics. Responsibilities include balancing the cash register, generating sales reports, accepting payments, ensuring accuracy in pricing and quantities, and issuing receipts. Additionally, the cashier will process refunds and exchanges, resolve customer complaints, and ensure purchases are bagged or wrapped for safe transport. Adherence to store procedures for handling coupons, gift cards, and restricted items such as alcohol or cigarettes is required, along with maintaining a clean workspace.
Qualifications and Experience
- HND or degree
- Experience in customer service or cashiering
- Ability to handle transactions accurately and responsibly
- High energy and strong customer service skills
- Basic math and computer skills
- Attention to detail
- Courteous and helpful approach to resolving complaints
