Key Responsibilities of the Accounts Receivable Clerk

The successful applicant will be responsible for managing and supervising accounts receivable functions, including:

  • Assigning tasks to the accounts receivable team in line with accounting department goals

  • Overseeing the timely collection of payments from customers

  • Monitoring and managing invoicing procedures

  • Performing customer credit checks

  • Handling customer interactions in cases of delayed or non-payment

  • Creating and maintaining accurate records of invoices, bills, and deposits

  • Forecasting monthly, quarterly, and annual financial results and preparing reports

  • Ensuring compliance with legal and regulatory requirements

  • Supervising the accounts receivable team to ensure adherence to accounting principles

  • Providing daily operational support to Accounts Receivable Clerks

  • Staying updated on industry trends and changes in financial regulations


Qualification and Experience Required

To qualify for this Accounts Receivable Clerk position, applicants must meet the following requirements:

Educational Qualifications

  • BSc degree in Accounting or Finance

  • CPA certification is an added advantage

Experience and Skills

  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience in an Accounts Receivable Manager or Supervisor role

  • Strong experience with accounting software

  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft Excel

  • Ability to work with large volumes of financial data

  • Strong analytical, negotiation, and problem-solving skills

  • Proven team management and leadership abilities
