Project Overview

The “Digital Transformation for Inclusive Entrepreneurship in Ghana” (DTEG) project aims to enhance the framework for sustainable economic growth among micro and small women-led enterprises in Ghana. The project focuses on advancing digital transformation, improving digital services, and strengthening digital skills with a gender-transformative approach across six regions.

Role and Responsibilities

The Technical Advisor will play a pivotal role in strengthening the national and regional framework for gender-responsive digital entrepreneurship. Key responsibilities include:

  • Advising national and local government entities on digital policy, emerging technologies, and entrepreneurship opportunities.
  • Collaborating with a team of advisors to support project activities in Accra and selected regions.
  • Leading comprehensive reviews and assessments of Ghana’s digital economy, analyzing its impact on national and regional levels.
  • Partnering with local organizations to develop monitoring and evaluation tools to assess public interventions.
  • Ensuring effective coordination and oversight of activities outside Accra.
  • Drafting documents, statements, and presentations related to digitalization, policy, and gender.
  • Organizing and managing events, workshops, and meetings.
  • Offering guidance to partners on digitalization and gender issues.
  • Supporting proposal development and tender implementation.
  • Coordinating with consultants involved in project execution.

Qualifications and Experience

Candidates should possess the following:

  • A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in social sciences, public policy, development cooperation, ICT, economics, or a related field.
  • At least five years of experience in research or public policy, ideally with a focus on digital policy.
  • In-depth knowledge of Ghana’s digital policy and entrepreneurship landscape, and current opportunities for ecosystem advancement.
  • Experience working with public sector institutions, local government, and civil society organizations.
  • Proven expertise in organizing ecosystem events and stakeholder engagement.
  • Strong understanding of gender issues and ICT technologies.
  • Excellent team collaboration, communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in English and Microsoft Office applications, including MS Teams, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Ability to work under tight deadlines with high flexibility and attention to detail.
