Project Overview:
The “Digital Transformation for Inclusive Entrepreneurship in Ghana” (DTEG) project aims to enhance sustainable and inclusive economic development for micro and small women-led enterprises in Ghana. This initiative focuses on improving digital transformation conditions and digital services for women while strengthening digital skills across six selected regions using a gender-transformative approach. The project seeks to create better business conditions for women-led micro-enterprises and provide policy advisory at both regional and national levels.
Role Description:
The Technical Advisor (Digital Impact & Policy) will support the macro-level activities of the DTEG project, emphasizing gender-responsive digital entrepreneurship on a national scale and in six other regions. Responsibilities include designing, implementing, and assessing projects that enhance the digital policy and entrepreneurship landscape in Ghana. The advisor will collaborate with national and local government structures, providing insights and advice on digital policy and entrepreneurship opportunities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Advise national and local government structures on digital policy and entrepreneurship opportunities in Ghana.
- Collaborate with a team of advisors to support project activities in Accra and other selected regions.
- Conduct comprehensive reviews and assessments of the digital economy, analyzing its economic impact.
- Develop monitoring and evaluation processes with local partners to measure public intervention impacts.
- Coordinate and oversee project activities outside Accra.
- Draft papers, statements, presentations, and briefing documents on digitalization, policy, and gender.
- Organize and manage events, workshops, and meetings.
- Provide advice to partners and stakeholders on digitalization and gender issues.
- Support proposal development and tender implementation.
- Coordinate with consultants during project implementation.
- Prepare presentations and communication materials.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Master’s degree in social sciences, public policy, development cooperation, ICT, or a related field.
- Minimum of five years of experience in public policy, with a focus on digital policy.
- In-depth knowledge of Ghana’s digital policy and entrepreneurship landscape.
- Experience working with public sector institutions, local governments, and civil society organizations.
- Expertise in organizing ecosystem events and engaging stakeholders.
- Strong understanding of gender-related issues.
- Proficient in ICT technologies and computer applications.
- Excellent teamwork, communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
- Proficient in English and Microsoft Office applications.
Location: Accra
