Role Summary
The Quality Assurance Manager will oversee and implement processes adhering to a selected GFSI benchmarked standard to ensure product quality and safety. This includes revising monitoring activities from farm to finished products and enforcing good manufacturing and hygienic practices along the value chain, ensuring proper documentation for all quality-related audits.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and establish the company’s quality procedures, standards, and specifications.
- Set and maintain standards for quality, health, and safety.
- Ensure manufacturing processes meet international and national standards.
- Identify ways to reduce waste and increase efficiency.
- Collaborate with operating staff to define quality procedures.
- Implement and maintain control and documentation procedures.
- Gather and analyze data to monitor performance and produce statistical reports.
- Review and suggest improvements to existing policies.
- Measure performance, identify weaknesses, and recommend improvements.
- Liaise with managers and staff, providing training and tools to achieve quality standards.
- Assess the effectiveness of implemented changes.
- Train and manage a team of quality control technicians and oversee the manufacturing and production processes.
- Supervise the laboratory, establish SOPs, and ensure proper equipment maintenance and calibration.
- Coordinate raw material and packaging inspections, maintaining specifications and documentation.
- Ensure traceability through digital data collection and tracking.
- Establish, manage, and update food safety and quality standards in the factory.
Qualifications and Experience
- BSc (MSc is a plus) in Food Process Engineering, Food Safety, Quality Design, Food Science, Food Technology, Chemical Engineering, or a related field.
- HACCP or FSMS certification.
- At least five years of experience in Food Safety and Quality Management Systems, with a minimum of three years in management roles.
- Experience in the food/feed, drugs, or related industry and project management.
- Knowledge of certifications, external audits, and current industry standards and technologies.
