In 2021 alone, the organization reached more than 1.6 million people, including 402,616 adolescents—a 51% increase from the previous year. m2m has significantly contributed to the Global Goals of ending HIV/AIDS by 2030, achieving the virtual elimination of mother-to-child HIV transmission among its clients for eight consecutive years and meeting the UNAIDS Fast-Track Targets four years ahead of the 2026 deadline. Job Summary

The Country Finance Manager will oversee the finance function in Ghana, encompassing financial transactions and administrative processes. This includes management reporting, financial data analysis, and donor reporting. The role involves supporting the in-country team to ensure effective resource allocation and activity implementation. The Country Finance Manager reports directly to the Country Director and provides technical and financial support to the team in Accra.

Key Responsibilities

Finance Management in Ghana:

  • Establish financial systems, including treasury and internal controls.
  • Maintain and build capacity on m2m finance policies, procedures, and accounting software.
  • Assist in setting up in-country bank accounts and manage the Ghana country budget.
  • Prepare proposal budgets for new opportunities.
  • Review and oversee the work activities of direct reports for accuracy and efficiency.

Financial and Accounting Management:

  • Provide financial management support to the Country Lead and team, liaising with Head Office.
  • Assist in preparing and monitoring organizational budgets.
  • Manage accounting processes related to Country Office transactions.
  • Track cash receipts and disbursements at the project level, offering financial advice for project planning.

Financial Integrity and Compliance:

  • Implement and maintain internal control systems for financial security.
  • Review and update financial policies in line with Head Office guidelines.
  • Ensure expenses comply with donor agreements and manage monthly account closures.
  • Submit accurate financial data and reports to Head Office Finance units.
  • Monitor cash flow and prepare funding requests to meet operational needs.
  • Support audits and ensure compliance with statutory regulations.
  • Identify cost-saving initiatives without compromising quality.

Budget and Financial Reporting:

  • Prepare and maintain annual budgets for the Country Office.
  • Provide monthly financial reports to the Country Lead and project directors.
  • Generate quarterly pipeline reports and financial analyses.
  • Oversee procurement, logistics, and program activities.
  • Ensure integrity and documentation of procurement procedures.
  • Manage project contracting, including procurement and service agreements.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Professional qualification preferred; minimum three-year bachelor’s degree.
  • At least five years of post-study experience in financial or accounting roles, with at least two years in management.
  • Familiarity with institutional donor requirements (e.g., USAID, CDC, EC, DfID, UN, SIDA) is advantageous.

Competencies

  • Versatile team player with strong accounting and financial management skills.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Experience with ERP accounting systems and proficiency in Excel.
  • Proficiency in English is highly advantageous.
