The Parliamentary Service of Ghana is inviting applications from qualified individuals for the position of Chief Policy Analyst.
Job Summary
The Chief Policy Analyst will conduct and disseminate independent research and program evaluations on social and governance issues to support policy and legislative discussions in Parliament.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct assessments on the impact of legislation and policies.
- Analyze and publish reports and briefing notes on the potential policy implications of current and emerging governance and social issues.
- Provide committees of Parliament with advice, oral briefings, data analysis, background papers, and follow-up research related to governance and social policy.
- Inform the House on public dialogue activities concerning governance and social issues.
- Organize discussions and public lectures to stimulate debate on topical governance and social policies.
- Build and maintain a database of external policy experts and consultants for collaboration.
- Facilitate the development and implementation of strategies, policies, guidelines, and operational manuals to ensure the efficient functioning of the division’s offices and departments.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Clerk of Parliament.
Qualifications and Experience
- A research-based master’s degree, preferably MPhil or PhD, with specialization in Humanities, Social Sciences, or a related field from a recognized university.
- At least six years of post-qualification experience in a role similar to a Director in a public service institution.
- Experience in authoring policy documents of international repute for governments and international organizations.
Age Limit
Applicants should not be older than 55 years at the time of appointment.
