Development Bank Ghana (DBG) is seeking a Chief Data Officer to lead its data strategy, ensuring alignment with its wholesale banking objectives.
Role Summary:
The Chief Data Officer (CDO) will drive DBG’s data strategy, establish and execute the Data Governance Framework, and lead the Governance Committee. Reporting to the Vice President of Economics & Research, the CDO will leverage data as a strategic asset to enhance DBG’s operational effectiveness and market competitiveness.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement DBG’s data strategy.
- Establish and execute the Data Governance Framework.
- Lead the Data Governance Committee.
- Leverage data to improve DBG’s operations and competitiveness.
Qualifications and Experience:
- At least 10 years of experience, with a minimum of 5 years in leadership roles managing data functions within banking, financial services, or other relevant sectors.
- Master’s or PhD in Engineering or a related field.
- Relevant professional certifications in Cloud, Data Science, or Data Engineering.
- Proven ability to develop and implement effective data strategies.
- Proficiency in data management technologies, analytics tools, and cloud platforms.
- Detailed knowledge of data governance, compliance, and risk management.
- Understanding of wholesale banking operations and regulatory requirements.
Skills:
- Ability to build and lead high-performing teams.
- Strong leadership and communication skills.
- Understanding of wholesale/development banking operations and financial products.
- Strong interpersonal skills and alignment with organizational goals.
