Job Opening: Chief Data Officer at Development Bank Ghana

Development Bank Ghana (DBG) is seeking a Chief Data Officer to lead its data strategy, ensuring alignment with its wholesale banking objectives.

Role Summary:

The Chief Data Officer (CDO) will drive DBG’s data strategy, establish and execute the Data Governance Framework, and lead the Governance Committee. Reporting to the Vice President of Economics & Research, the CDO will leverage data as a strategic asset to enhance DBG’s operational effectiveness and market competitiveness.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement DBG’s data strategy.
  • Establish and execute the Data Governance Framework.
  • Lead the Data Governance Committee.
  • Leverage data to improve DBG’s operations and competitiveness.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • At least 10 years of experience, with a minimum of 5 years in leadership roles managing data functions within banking, financial services, or other relevant sectors.
  • Master’s or PhD in Engineering or a related field.
  • Relevant professional certifications in Cloud, Data Science, or Data Engineering.
  • Proven ability to develop and implement effective data strategies.
  • Proficiency in data management technologies, analytics tools, and cloud platforms.
  • Detailed knowledge of data governance, compliance, and risk management.
  • Understanding of wholesale banking operations and regulatory requirements.

Skills:

  • Ability to build and lead high-performing teams.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills.
  • Understanding of wholesale/development banking operations and financial products.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and alignment with organizational goals.

Location: Accra
