Empowering Communities Through Menstrual Health and Education

Inspire Her Ghana, a non-profit organization, is on a mission to empower girls, women, and communities through menstrual health interventions, education, skill development, and community engagement. By addressing period poverty and promoting menstrual equity, we aim to create supportive environments where menstruating individuals can thrive.

Join Our Board of Directors

We are looking for experienced professionals to join our Board of Directors and help guide Inspire Her Ghana’s strategic direction. As a board member, you will be instrumental in maximizing our impact and ensuring we fulfill our mission.

Desired Board Member Profiles

  1. Governance and Leadership
    • Experience: Senior executives or board members in non-profit or corporate governance.
    • Skills: Strategic planning, leadership, compliance, and organizational oversight.
    • Role: Guide strategy, ensure compliance, and oversee management.
  2. Finance Professionals
    • Experience: CFOs, senior accountants, or financial advisors with financial management expertise.
    • Skills: Budgeting, financial planning, auditing, and fundraising.
    • Role: Oversee financial planning, management, and fundraising.
  3. Legal Expertise
    • Experience: Lawyers or legal advisors specializing in non-profit law and corporate governance.
    • Skills: Regulatory requirements, contracts, intellectual property, and risk management.
    • Role: Provide legal advice and manage organizational risk.
  4. Educator or Education Professionals
    • Experience: Educators or academic leaders in curriculum development and educational policy.
    • Skills: Instructional design, assessment, and educational leadership.
    • Role: Guide educational programs and align them with best practices.
  5. Public Health Professionals
    • Experience: Public health practitioners, medical professionals, or policymakers.
    • Skills: Sexual and reproductive health, menstrual health, and health education.
    • Role: Advise on health initiatives and ensure evidence-based alignment.
  6. Fundraising and Development
    • Experience: Fundraising professionals with a track record of securing large-scale funding.
    • Skills: Grant writing, donor relations, and campaign planning.
    • Role: Lead fundraising efforts and build donor relationships.
  7. Program Development and Management
    • Experience: Program managers with experience in community development projects.
    • Skills: Program design, implementation, and impact assessment.
    • Role: Oversee program development and evaluate impact.
  8. Marketing and Communications
    • Experience: Marketing professionals with expertise in branding and public relations.
    • Skills: Branding, public relations, and social media strategy.
    • Role: Develop marketing strategies and manage communications.
  9. Community and Grassroots Engagement
    • Experience: Community leaders or activists experienced in grassroots movements.
    • Skills: Community outreach, mobilization, and advocacy.
    • Role: Strengthen community ties and promote advocacy initiatives.
  10. Youth/Young People’s Representative
  • Experience: Young leaders or students representing young girls’ perspectives.
  • Skills: Understanding of young girls’ challenges and strong communication.
  • Role: Provide insights and advocate for initiatives benefiting young girls.

General Responsibilities

  • Actively participate in board and committee meetings.
  • Provide strategic oversight and maintain alignment with our mission.
  • Cultivate business development initiatives and secure funding.
  • Develop and implement organizational policies.
  • Act as an ambassador for Inspire Her Ghana and support our goals.

Terms of Engagement

  • Voluntary Service: Board service is voluntary and unpaid.
  • Term Length: Three years, with potential renewal based on performance.
  • Meetings: Quarterly board meetings and additional committee meetings as needed.
  • Commitment: Prepare for and participate in meetings and follow up on tasks.
  • Confidentiality: Maintain the confidentiality of sensitive information.
  • Conflict of Interest: Disclose potential conflicts and recuse from relevant decisions.
  • Ethical Standards: Uphold ethical standards and act in Inspire Her Ghana’s best interest.
