Basic (minimum) requirements — apply to all categories

All applicants must:

  • Be Ghanaian by birth.

Note: Sportsmen/women (various disciplines) and Band (musicians) categories are also included with specific eligibility and trials.

C. Graduates (General Duty)

  • Degree holders:35 years by 01/11/2025; minimum Second Class Lower (or as stated).

  • HND / Diploma holders: lower age caps (commonly ≤ 32 years).

  • National Service completion usually required for degree holders.

D. Medical & Health Professionals

Roles include Medical Doctors, Medical Specialists, Pharmacists, Nurses (various specialties), Medical Laboratory Scientists, Physician Assistants, Anesthetists, Sonographers, Public Health Officers, Clinical Nutritionists, Physiotherapists, and related cadres.

  • Professional registration with the appropriate Ghana regulatory body (e.g., Medical & Dental Council, Nursing Council, Pharmacy Council) is required.

  • Age limits typically ≤ 35 years (specialist caps may be higher). Post-qualification experience required for some posts.

E. Religious Affairs

  • Ordained Ministers / Chaplains — degree in Theology; must be in good standing with recognized Christian bodies.

  • Imams — degree in Islamic Studies; recognized standing with national/regional Muslim leadership.

F. Auxiliary & Support Staff

  • Auxiliary staff (janitorial workers, gardeners, etc.) — ages typically 18–35, BECE/WASSCE or relevant vocational qualification, physically fit.


Step-by-step: How to apply (recommended preparation)

  1. Read the official recruitment notice carefully on the Ghana Police Service website or the Ministry of Interior announcement page.

  2. Prepare digital copies of required documents: ID, birth certificate, educational certificates, national service certificate (where applicable), professional licenses/registration (for medical/professional categories), driver’s license (if applying as driver), CV, passport photo, contact details, etc.
