We are seeking an Executive Director to provide strategic, technical, and administrative leadership for our commission. This role is crucial for guiding the commission towards fulfilling its mandate.
Key Responsibilities
The Executive Director will spearhead the development and implementation of the commission’s policies. Responsibilities include coordinating, monitoring, and evaluating the commission’s programs to ensure effectiveness. The Director will also provide expert advice on law reform issues and oversee the efficient management of the commission’s human, material, and financial resources.
The role involves representing the commission on both local and international stages concerning law reform matters. Building relationships with government entities and other stakeholders is essential. The Executive Director will prepare and submit annual and periodic reports, present the annual budget for approval, and ensure adherence to the commission’s performance management policies. Additionally, the Director will act as the commission’s secretary.
Qualifications and Experience
Candidates must be called to the Ghana Bar and have at least 12 years of standing. A Master’s Degree in a relevant field is required.
Skills and Competencies
The ideal candidate will have significant experience in legal research, report writing on law development, and a deep understanding of legal matters. Strong communication, presentation, leadership, networking, and management skills are necessary. Knowledge of financial and labor laws, along with conflict management skills, is essential. Proficiency in ICT, accuracy, attention to detail, integrity, diplomacy, and negotiation abilities are also required.
