About Inspire Her Ghana:
Inspire Her Ghana is a dedicated non-profit organization focused on empowering girls, women, and communities through menstrual health interventions, education, skill development, and community engagement. Our mission is to combat period poverty, advocate for menstrual equity, and create environments where menstruating individuals can flourish.
Board Member Recruitment:
We are looking for distinguished professionals to join our Board of Directors. As a board member, you will play a vital role in steering the strategic direction of Inspire Her Ghana, helping us fulfill our mission and enhance our impact.
Desired Profiles:
- Governance and Leadership
Senior executives or experienced board members with a strong background in non-profit or corporate governance.- Skills: Strategic planning, leadership, compliance, organizational oversight.
- Responsibilities: Provide strategic direction, ensure legal compliance, and oversee organizational management.
- Finance Professionals
High-level finance experts such as CFOs, senior accountants, or financial advisors.- Skills: Budgeting, financial planning, auditing, fundraising, investment management.
- Responsibilities: Oversee financial planning, ensure financial transparency, and support fundraising efforts.
- Legal Expertise
Senior lawyers or legal advisors with expertise in non-profit law and corporate governance.- Skills: Regulatory compliance, contracts, intellectual property, risk management.
- Responsibilities: Provide legal counsel, ensure regulatory compliance, manage risks.
- Education Professionals
Senior educators or academic leaders with experience in curriculum development and educational policy.- Skills: Educational theory, instructional design, program evaluation.
- Responsibilities: Guide educational programs, align initiatives with best practices, support strategic planning.
- Public Health Professionals
Senior public health practitioners, medical professionals, or policymakers with expertise in health-related fields.- Skills: Sexual and reproductive health, menstrual health, health education.
- Responsibilities: Advise on public health initiatives, ensure alignment with evidence-based strategies.
- Fundraising and Development
Successful fundraising professionals or development officers with a track record in securing large-scale funding.- Skills: Grant writing, donor relations, campaign planning, corporate partnerships.
- Responsibilities: Lead fundraising efforts, secure grants and donations, develop financial sustainability strategies.
- Program Development and Management
Senior program managers with experience in community development and empowerment projects.- Skills: Program design, implementation, monitoring and evaluation, impact assessment.
- Responsibilities: Oversee program development, ensure effective implementation, monitor program impact.
- Marketing and Communications
Senior marketing professionals or communications specialists with a background in branding and public relations.- Skills: Branding, public relations, social media strategy, stakeholder engagement.
- Responsibilities: Develop marketing strategies, enhance brand visibility, manage communications.
- Community and Grassroots Engagement
Influential community leaders or activists with experience in grassroots movements.- Skills: Community outreach, mobilization, advocacy, partnership building.
- Responsibilities: Strengthen community ties, advise on grassroots mobilization, promote advocacy initiatives.
- Youth/Young People’s Representative
An inspiring young leader or student who represents the interests and perspectives of young girls.
- Skills: Understanding the challenges of young girls, communication, advocacy.
- Responsibilities: Provide insights into the needs of young girls, advocate for relevant initiatives.
General Responsibilities:
- Attend and actively participate in board meetings and committees.
- Provide strategic oversight and ensure alignment with the organization’s mission.
- Cultivate business development initiatives and secure funding.
- Contribute to policy and procedure development.
- Act as an ambassador for Inspire Her Ghana, expanding our network.
- Support the Executive Director and team in achieving goals.
Terms of Engagement:
- Voluntary Service: Board members serve voluntarily and are not compensated.
- Term Length: Three-year term, with possible renewal based on performance.
- Meetings: Quarterly board meetings and additional committee or special meetings as needed.
- Commitment: Dedicate time to meetings, discussions, and follow-up tasks.
- Confidentiality: Maintain confidentiality of sensitive information.
- Conflict of Interest: Disclose any potential conflicts and recuse from related decisions.
- Ethical Standards: Uphold high ethical standards and act in the organization’s best interest.
