Inspire Her Ghana is a non-profit organization dedicated to empowering girls, women, and communities through menstrual health interventions, education, skill development, and community engagement. Our mission is to address period poverty, promote menstrual equity, and create supportive environments where menstruating individuals can thrive.
Board Member Recruitment
We are seeking distinguished and experienced professionals to join our Board of Directors. As a board member, you will play a crucial role in guiding the strategic direction of Inspire Her Ghana, ensuring we achieve our mission and maximize our impact.
Profiles We Are Looking For
1. Governance and Leadership
- Profile: Senior executives or seasoned board members with experience in non-profit or corporate governance.
- Skills: Strategic planning, leadership, compliance, and organizational oversight.
- Responsibilities: Provide strategic direction, ensure compliance with legal and regulatory requirements, and oversee organizational management.
2. Finance Professionals
- Profile: High-level finance professionals such as CFOs or financial advisors.
- Skills: Budgeting, financial planning, auditing, fundraising, and investment management.
- Responsibilities: Oversee financial planning, ensure financial stability, and support fundraising efforts.
3. Legal Expertise
- Profile: Senior lawyers or legal advisors with experience in non-profit law.
- Skills: Regulatory requirements, contracts, intellectual property, and risk management.
- Responsibilities: Provide legal advice, ensure compliance, and manage risk.
4. Educators or Education Professionals
- Profile: Senior educators or academic leaders.
- Skills: Educational theory and practice, instructional design, and program evaluation.
- Responsibilities: Guide educational programs, support development and evaluation, and contribute to strategic planning.
5. Public Health Professionals
- Profile: Senior public health practitioners or academic experts.
- Skills: Sexual and reproductive health, menstrual health, and health education.
- Responsibilities: Guide health initiatives and advise on public health strategies.
6. Fundraising and Development
- Profile: Successful fundraising professionals with a proven track record.
- Skills: Grant writing, donor relations, and campaign planning.
- Responsibilities: Lead fundraising efforts and secure substantial grants and donations.
7. Program Development and Management
- Profile: Senior program managers or development experts.
- Skills: Program design, implementation, monitoring, and evaluation.
- Responsibilities: Oversee program development and monitor impact.
8. Marketing and Communications
- Profile: Senior marketing professionals or communications specialists.
- Skills: Branding, public relations, social media strategy, and stakeholder engagement.
- Responsibilities: Develop marketing strategies and enhance brand visibility.
9. Community and Grassroots Engagement
- Profile: Influential community leaders or activists.
- Skills: Community outreach, mobilization, advocacy, and partnerships.
- Responsibilities: Strengthen community ties and promote advocacy initiatives.
10. Youth/Young People’s Representative
- Profile: Inspiring young leader or student representative.
- Skills: Understanding of challenges faced by young girls and strong communication skills.
- Responsibilities: Provide insights into the needs of young girls and advocate for relevant initiatives.
General Responsibilities
- Attend and actively participate in board meetings and committee meetings.
- Provide strategic oversight and ensure the organization remains true to its mission.
- Cultivate business development initiatives or networks for funding.
- Contribute to developing and implementing organizational policies.
- Act as an ambassador for Inspire Her Ghana and expand our network.
- Support the Executive Director and team in achieving organizational goals.
Terms of Engagement
- Voluntary Service: Board service is voluntary, and members do not receive remuneration.
- Term Length: Three years, with the possibility of renewal based on performance and agreement.
- Meetings: Regular board meetings held quarterly, with additional committee meetings as required.
- Commitment: Board members should be prepared to dedicate time for meetings and assigned tasks.
- Confidentiality: Members must maintain the confidentiality of sensitive information.
- Conflict of Interest: Members must disclose potential conflicts of interest.
- Ethical Standards: Members are expected to uphold ethical standards and act in the organization’s best interest.
