The African Center for Economic Transformation (ACET) is inviting applications for the position of Head of Program Delivery and Impact, a senior leadership role responsible for ensuring effective implementation, monitoring, and measurable results across ACET’s diverse portfolio of programs. Role Overview: Head of Program Delivery and Impact

The Head of Program Delivery and Impact will report directly to the Chief Operating Officer (COO) and serve as part of ACET’s Senior Leadership Team (SLT). The role focuses on project management excellence, impact measurement, and alignment with ACET’s research and policy objectives. The successful candidate will ensure projects meet quality standards, funding requirements, and the organisation’s Project Delivery Drive (PDD) targets.


Key Responsibilities

Strategic Leadership and Management

  • Drive ACET’s ambition to become a world-class organisation.

  • Develop strategies to improve project delivery efficiency and impact.

  • Lead and oversee a diverse programme portfolio.

  • Allocate resources to maximise results and ensure cost-effectiveness.

  • Enhance ACET’s visibility and influence through strong communication strategies.

  • Maintain strategic relationships with donors, partners, and stakeholders.

  • Support organisational policy development for project delivery and monitoring.

  • Provide leadership to the Project Management Office (PMO) and Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning (MEL) teams.

  • Anticipate risks and implement mitigation strategies.

  • Promote a culture of innovation and continuous improvement.

Programme Management and Delivery

  • Establish monitoring and evaluation frameworks to track project outcomes.

  • Balance technical quality with efficient project delivery.

  • Prepare performance reports for donors and stakeholders.

  • Oversee budgeting, financial planning, and expenditure monitoring.

  • Implement lessons learned and global best practices across all projects.

  • Work with HR to identify capacity gaps and develop training initiatives.


Required Qualifications and Experience

  • Postgraduate degree in International Development, Project Management, Monitoring & Evaluation, or related field.

  • PMP certification, Six Sigma, or equivalent.

  • Minimum of seven years’ experience managing complex development programmes.

  • Strong background in impact measurement and donor-funded projects.

  • Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.

  • Ability to inspire and guide high-performing teams.

  • Working proficiency in French is an added advantage.
