The West African Examinations Council (WAEC) has released the 2025 WASSCE for School Candidates (WASSCE-SC) results, announcing significant cancellations and withheld results due to widespread examination malpractice. The council cancelled the entire results of 653 candidates for possessing mobile phones in examination halls and withheld thousands of others for offences that compromised the integrity of the exam. The announcement was made in a statement signed by John Kapi, Head of Public Affairs at WAEC.

1. Full Cancellation of Results
WAEC cancelled:

Legal Actions and Court Convictions
WAEC confirmed that:

19 individuals have already been convicted and fined or imprisoned for roles in compromising the examination

Out of 35 implicated persons, 19 are teachers

The remaining 16 will be presented before the court

WAEC will forward the list of teachers involved to the Ghana Education Service (GES) for disciplinary action
