Ghana Immigration Service Recruitment 2025 Opens November 15 – Here’s How to Apply

Ministry of the Interior Announces Nationwide Recruitment for Graduates, Non-Graduates, and Skilled Workers

The Ministry of the Interior has officially announced the opening of the 2025 Ghana Immigration Service (GIS) recruitment exercise, which will run from November 15 to December 15, 2025.

This nationwide recruitment aims to attract qualified graduates, non-graduates, artisans, and professionals to serve in various roles within the Service. The Ministry says the exercise forms part of efforts to strengthen internal security and enhance border management across the country.

Interested Ghanaians are advised to review all eligibility criteria carefully before applying to ensure compliance with the specified requirements.


Categories Open for Recruitment

Category A: General Duties – Graduate Entry

Applicants must:

  • Be Ghanaian citizens by birth with no criminal record.

  • Hold at least a first degree (not below Second Class Lower) from an accredited university.

  • Have completed National Service.

  • Be aged between 18 and 35 years by November 1, 2025.

  • Be physically and medically fit, of good character, and not bonded by any organization.

  • Have a minimum height of 1.68m (5ft 6in) for males and 1.57m (5ft 2in) for females.


Category B: General Duties – Non-Graduate Entry

Applicants must have HND, Diploma, WASSCE, or SSSCE certificates and:

  • Be Ghanaian citizens with no criminal record.

  • Have at least five (5) credits, including English and Mathematics.

  • Be aged between 18 and 32 years by November 1, 2025.

  • Meet physical and medical fitness requirements.

  • Not be bonded or previously dismissed from any public institution.


Category C: Medical

Open to healthcare professionals such as:

  • Doctors (MD, CHB) registered with the Medical and Dental Council.

  • Nurses registered with the Nursing and Midwifery Council.

  • Psychologists, Pharmacists, and Physician Assistants with valid professional licenses.


Category D: Religious Affairs

  1. Ordained Ministers/Chaplains

    • Must hold a degree in Theology and belong to a recognized Christian denomination.

  2. Imams

    • Must hold a degree in Islamic Studies and be in good standing with recognized Muslim bodies.


Category E: Tradesmen and Artisans

Applicants must be Ghanaian citizens with relevant technical or vocational qualifications (BECE, WASSCE, NVTI, COVET, or City & Guilds).
Available positions include:

  • Masons, Electricians, Plumbers, Carpenters

  • Drivers, Mechanics, and Welders

  • Tailors, Communication Technicians, IT Support Officers, and Sports Personnel

  • Band Members and Auxiliary Staff (Janitors, Gardeners)

All applicants in this category must be aged 18–35 years, physically and medically fit, and of good character.


Application Process

Interested candidates should:

  1. Visit the Ghana Immigration Service recruitment portal (link to be announced by the Ministry).

  2. Select the appropriate category and review the listed requirements.

  3. Fill out the online application form accurately and upload all supporting documents.

  4. Submit the form before the December 15, 2025 deadline.

⚠️ Important: The Ministry of the Interior warns applicants not to pay money to anyone claiming they can influence the recruitment process. The GIS does not charge any fees at any stage of recruitment.

“This recruitment is open to disciplined and patriotic Ghanaians who wish to serve their country with integrity and professionalism. Applicants must ensure that they meet the eligibility criteria before applying.”

Only shortlisted candidates will be contacted for screening, aptitude tests, and background verification. Those who submit false information or forged documents will be disqualified and prosecuted.
